The historic center of Siena has been listed by UNESCO among World Heritage Sites due to the Gothic appearance of squares, palaces, churches and monuments, get between XII and XV centuries.
Visiting Siena means following a path to the origins of Western culture, when, in the Middle Ages, the Italian City-States were born: for a brief period Siena stand out in Europe, giving life to a civilization whose signs are still visible today in its rich historical-artistic heritage.

Siena, in fact, is divided into 17 Contrada (Aquila, Bruco, Chiocciola, Civetta, Drago, Giraffa, Istrice, Leocorno, Lupa, Nicchio, Oca, Onda, Pantera, Selva, Tartuca, Torre and Valdimontone), 10 Contrada join the Palio chosen by draw, the Palio takes place twice a year, on July 2nd and August 16th, in Piazza del Campo.
